Luis is Partner of the Law Firm and Leader of Civil, Commercial and Constitutional Litigation Practice Group. He has extensive experience in Constitutional, Civil, Commercial, Criminal, Labor and Administrative Law and Intellectual Property.
His experience, sharpness, creativity, serenity, and management of legal projects in the litigation area, has led him to participate in multiple cases in which his knowledge, acquired during 28 years of practice, has contributed to the resolution of legal problems of our clients and to the defense of their fundamental rights, achieving highly satisfactory results.
During his involvement with the Constitutional Court, due to his merits and commitment to the defense of the Constitution and the constitutional order, he was appointed as the first lawyer of said Court; and, in the exercise of his functions, he redacted the draft resolution that restored the constitutional order in Guatemala, after the coup d'Etat occurred on May 25, 1993.
As a constitutional lawyer, he has had an active participation in defense of the Guatemalan Rule of Law, supervising the selection processes of high authorities in the justice sector, among them: the selection of magistrates to the Constitutional Court, magistrates to the Supreme Court of Justice, magistrates to the Courts of Appeals, magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Court and the election of Guatemala’s Attorney General, for the periods 2010, 2014 and 2020.
