The Board of Directors of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences of Guatemala (INACIF) approved Agreement CD-INACIF-20-2026, which amends its Rules of Organization and Operation to add a lab dedicated to the analysis of trademarks in the field of intellectual property (IP). This will be created within the forensic laboratories.

Reforms to the Single Property Tax (IUSI)

El 28 de agosto de 2026, tras la sanción el día anterior por parte del presidente Bernardo Arévalo, fue publicado en el Diario Oficial el Decreto 18-2026 que modifica la Ley del Impuesto Único Sobre Inmuebles (IUSI). Este había sido aprobado por el Congreso de la República el 29 de julio.
